Payment is due at the time of the appointment. Cash, checks and all major credit cards are accepted as well as HSA and FSA cards.

Clients are responsible for payment of the initially agreed upon fee for any missed appointments. Clients are also responsible for payment of the agreed upon fee for any session(s) for which they failed to give Sex Therapy of Allen at least 48-hour notice of cancellation.

Sex Therapy of Allen is not contracted with any health insurance companies. Clients who have out-of-network benefits, may be entitled to reimbursement for a portion of their therapy costs. Clients are encouraged to contact their insurance company directly with questions about their coverage.

Many insurance companies do not cover couples therapy or sex therapy. Clients may be able to pay for therapy out of their pre-tax income using an HSA or FSA accounts, if their insurance does not cover out-of-network providers.

Clients who wish to seek financial reimbursement from their health insurance will be provided with a statement (i.e., "Superbill') that they can submit at their convenience to the third-party of their choice to seek reimbursement of fees already paid. It is recommended that clients verify and understand the limits of their coverage.

Clients must be aware that disclosure of confidential information is required by health insurance carriers in order to process the claims. Insurance companies collect data, including: frequency of visits, types of visits, diagnosis codes (required for medical necessity), treatment plans, and have access to progress notes, treatment summaries, and diagnostic assessment evaluations.

Clients must be aware that submitting a mental health invoice for reimbursement carries a certain amount of risk to confidentiality, privacy or to their future eligibility to obtain health or life insurance.
